Update

Everyone-
Georgia, Misanthropster, and I are currently ensconced in our wonderful new apartment in New York. Unfortunately, however, we still do not have phone service or internet service, and are involved in a cold war with our movers, a vile collection of walking bags of pus otherwise known as The White House Moving Company. Seriously, assuming I can legally do so, this will become a post of its own!

At any rate, I love the Bronx and am working on the job search. However, without internet, I am not going to be able to do much posting. I will return in force as soon as I can. In the meantime, I will attempt to drop in as much as possible. I hope all is well with you, and look forward to resuming normal contact.

Best,

Crankster

p.s. Scott, you'll be glad to know that I'm off the sauce.

  • Hey cranky
you sound totally pissed off with those guys - delighted though you and the family are one again. Looking forward to hearing your tales again. Keep an eye out via the mail. And as for the walking puss bags of movers, Im sure you will get justice. Good luck with the job hunt!!

  • Excellent news!

Look forward to having you back among us.

Removals firms are all a bunch of shysters.

  • Yeah! You are together at last! Welcome to this corner of the world. I can't wait to read about your adventures in moving.

  • So glad you made it, and your family life is no longer on ice.

Good luck in New York and be happy. I hope you are able to do as much damage to the movers as they undoubtedly did to you. Been there. You have all my sympathy.

Waiting to hear more on your new life.

  • Yeah, Odat, Da Bronx. :)

It's pretty nice up here. We're loving it. Quiet, for the most part (except for the multi-racial full contact dominoes games that go on for hours on weekend nights, and the occasional all night salsa party), lotsa trees.

So far there's only been one killing in our neighborhood since we've been here.

    Snort.

Anyway, it's pretty great to have the family back together, and I'm loving being able to wake up in the same bed (hell, even the same zip code) as my husband.

We've got to get together soon!

  • White House Moving? What were you thinking!? They probably have executive privilege and all that junk. You'd better be careful about what you post... I'd really like to visit you in NYC, but I'm not sure how much I want to tour scenic Guantanamo. I think their visiting hours are pretty crappy anyway, though.

Best of luck with the jorb search! We hafta talk soon!

  • CEO-
    Rockin' Girl Blogger?

I don't know, but if you hum a few bars...

    Claudia-
Thanks--all warm wishes are greatly, greatly appreciated!!

    Jude-
I hope that some justice will be forthcoming. We shall see. Regarding the rest, I shall definitely keep you posted!

    Puss-
I hope to be back among you soon. I need to write, as my head is starting to fill up again!

Also, many thanks for the nomination and the kind words!

    Reflecting Pool-
The moving tale might take some time. I'm still in counseling.

    Hearts-
Any advice on the best method for dealing with movers. Alternately, any advice for the best caliber for dealing with movers?

    Odat-
I hope we'll be able to see each other soon. And, if the Bronx was good enough for Edgar Allen Poe, it's good enough for me.

Silly joke--EAP's cottage is about two blocks from our apartment!

    Lee-
It's back on. The worst part was job searching from the library computers. I could only work for 45 minutes at a time, and there was, inevitably, a really stinky guy sitting next to me.

    Will-
Thanks for the warning. Actually, the only resemblance between the movers and Dubya was the glassy eyes. Well, that and the limited vocabulary!

  • Considering all I’ve heard about New York, you might not have enough time to post even after you get settled in.
